The foundation was created on January 3, 2013 and was the result of a long process of organizing adolescents and young people in different massive activities so that they have access to art and culture. Consultancies always oriented to this purpose have also been carried out, for example, for the municipality of Quito, the use of parks in activities for recreation and sports for children and adolescents was analyzed in several neighborhoods. Now we want to promote the existence of the Foundation and specialize it in other areas always in relation to childhood and adolescence, but that are framed within a broad concept of violence of all kinds, according to the interests of the new Foundation team, being the commercial sexual exploitation is one of the most important areas that it intends to act on.

Ecuador is a country of origin, transit and destination for the trafficking of children, predominantly girls, for the purpose of sexual exploitation. This phenomenon is prominent in border areas, especially in the provinces of Sucumbíos, Carchi and Esmeraldas.
The Government of Ecuador investigated 49 cases concerning child sexual exploitation in 2015.
The sexual exploitation of children through prostitution is widely prevalent in the country and hidden within the adult sex trade; exploiters make direct contact with the child or with a company dedicated to this illegal business.
In 2015, the National Assembly approved a reform of the Civil Code and the legal age of marriage was raised from 12 for girls and 14 for boys, to 18 for both without exception.
