Supervisory Board Member Openings

ECPAT International is accepting applications to join our Supervisory Board.

The Supervisory Board exists of 3-5 members with different profiles and experts. The members are elected for four years. The Supervisory Board has quarterly statutory meetings and extraordinary meetings. This is a voluntary position and does not receive any remuneration, whether directly or indirectly.  

Supervisory Board Description 

The Supervisory Board intends to be more than the sum of individual experts; it is a team. All Supervisory Board members of ECPAT International are people who: 

  • are committed leaders, prioritising the fulfilment of the mission of ECPAT International and its growth, through well-being and empowerment of the Executive Director and its team;
  • are authentic leaders, emphasising honesty, transparency and genuineness. They build trust and contribute towards a positive working environment;
  • take responsibility for their actions and make decisions based on principle and with the mission and long-term interest of the organisation in mind, rather than short-term or even personal success. They use their inner compass and values to guide their daily actions;
  • have sound interpersonal and intercultural communication skills. They demonstrate an open and inquisitive mind, are weary of quick conclusions and prejudices;
  • and naturally have a drive and passion for the mission of ECPAT International.

Advocacy, Engagement and Campaigning Expert — Full Profile (pdf) 

  • Providing strategic oversight to ensure alignment between the strategic objectives and strategies of the organisation with its reputation, communication 
  • Reviewing and advising the Executive Director on alignment of communications, advocacy, engagement and campaigning with the strategic objectives and goals of the organisation; 
  • Engaging with different networks and credibility in international communications, advocacy, engagement and campaigning, to foster relationships, a strategic position and secure long-term funding for the foundation. 

Fundraising & Private Sector Engagement Expert — Full Profile (pdf)

  • Ensures a strong link with private sector actors, conducive to the fulfilment of the mission, vision and strategy of the organisation, therewith contributing to the long-term continuity of the organisation. 
  • Reviewing, informing and advising the Executive Director in the strategic engagement with the private sector and how to leverage funding; 
  • Engaging with her or his own network and credibility in the international private sector to support the Executive Director in establishing and maintaining relationships and ensure long-term funding for the foundation. 

The period for submitting applications is until 17 November 2024. Applicants will apply via the email address marthal@ecpat.org. Candidates will be asked to complete a form containing relevant questions about experience and motivation, and attach their curriculum vitae to their application. 

Governance

ECPAT International is led by the Executive Director and overseen by a Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board comprises of 5 members. The current Supervisory Board was appointed in January 2024. Network activities are supported and coordinated by ECPAT International based in Bangkok. 

The ECPAT Network is governed through two membership bodies: 

  • The Assembly of ECPAT Organisations influences the overall strategies, policies and organisational guidelines by which the Network and organisation is directed and controlled, it elects the Membership Representative Committee.
  • The Membership Representative Committee consists of 10 Representatives elected by the members of each region from the Assembly of ECPAT Organisations (2 seats are reserved for the Americas, 2 for Sub-Saharan Africa, 2 for Europe, 1 for Middle East and North Africa, and 3 for Asia and the Pacific). It supports the work of ECPAT International and the Supervisory Board on the orientation of strategies and the good governance of the network.

ECPAT International is a non-profit organization registered legally as a Foundation (Stichting) in the Netherlands on August 20th 2000 under number KVK 34139743. ECPAT International’s head office is based in Bangkok, Thailand, and registered with the Thai Ministry of Labour under number Aor.Chor.Tor./Phor.012/2566.
