This technical guidance aims to provide orientation based on known practices and evidence, and to suggest points of consideration for countries contemplating developing or reviewing their own registry. This technical guidance should be read in conjunction with ECPAT International’s 2023 “Working paper: Overall presentation of different types of (child) sex offender registries” which provides more details on the academic, policy and practice evidence on the impact of the registries.
