Public Opinion is Clear: Urgent Legislation Required to Protect Children from Sexual Exploitation! Read the story

Today is Human Rights Day

Posted on Dec 10, 2013

Today, December 10, is Human Rights Day. The date was chosen to honour the UN General Assembly's adoption and proclamation in 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Although the world has made great strides in realising human rights over the last few decades, millions of children are still being exploited through commercial sexual exploitation.

The commercial sexual exploitation of children is a fundamental violation of children’s rights. Such exploitation has existed throughout history, yet it is only in recent decades that the scale of these crimes has been brought to the attention of governments and the public. There are as many as 1.8 million children exploited in prostitution or pornography worldwide and human trafficking alone as an illegal industry generates billions of US dollars.

Help us put an end to the commercial sexual exploitation of children. Join our fight today!
