ECPAT International accepted the 2013 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize today in New York City. Members of the ECPAT network joined Executive Director, Dorothy Rozga onstage at the Waldorf Astoria to a standing ovation. This is the 18th year for the Hilton Prize given by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to an organisation that is significantly alleviating human suffering.
ECPAT is thrilled to receive this award recognising our achievements all over the world against the commercial sexual exploitation of children. “ECPAT is deeply honored to be selected to receive the prestigious Hilton Humanitarian Prize by its distinguished jury,” said Ms. Rozga. “Over the last 20 years the name ECPAT has become synonymous with action to stop the commercial sexual exploitation of children.”
The 2013 Hilton Prize was presented at the annual Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Symposium. The Hilton Symposium gathers policymakers and leaders in the humanitarian field to address the most challenging issues facing the billions of people who make up the world's most vulnerable populations. ECPAT International was one of over 200 organisations being considered for the award.
