Stepping Stones International (SSI), a civil society organisation registered in Botswana since 2006, and serves vulnerable children and youth ages 12-25. SSI’s core services include youth empowerment, family enrichment, capacity building of service providers and advocacy for child protection. SSI’s programs are developed, implemented and monitored by their own beneficiaries.

SSI applies the socio-ecological model for programming, including the child (life skills, counselling, literacy), the family (counselling, referrals, parenting skills), the community (engaging grandmothers and village child protection communities to identify cases of child abuse) and the national policy level (lobbying policy makers to change the law regarding children).
