The NGO SOS Violences Sexuelles is a member of Ivorian Network of NGOs fighting against the sexual violence of women and children (in short BANKS). SOS Violences Sexuelles is a member of ECPAT International global network and a partner of Save The Children.
SOS Violences Sexuelles responds to sexual violence by conducting prevention activities and providing psychological support for victims of sexual violence.
Established in 1982, Communauté Abel is an Ivorian non-profit organization supporting vulnerable children through cultural initiatives, counseling services, educational programs, and professional training for boys and girls aged 14-21. Communauté Abel is the local branch of the Italian association ‘Gruppo Abele Onlus’ and is based in Grand Bassam, where it has been operating for more than 40 years.

According to a report of the United Nations Operation in Ivory Coast published in July 2016, 756 children have been raped between January 2012 and December 2015 (7 were boys).
The NGO SOS Violence Sexuelle and the Réseau des acteurs des médias pour les droits de l’enfant launched in June 2016 a prevention campaign called “End of the child exploitation in Africa for 2030”. The campaign started with a contest for the “Best journalist on child sexual exploitation in Africa” aimed at raising the interest of journalists on the topic.
In July 2016, the Government of Ivory Coast announced the adoption of a draft law on the strengthening of the fight against trafficking in human beings. The draft law provides a more accurate definition of human trafficking and it ensures the protection of the victims and the witnesses before, during and after the criminal proceedings.
